Who We Are

The Sassy Stables is more than just a farm stay it’s a dream brought to life. Inspired by my own childhood growing up on a horse farm in sunny Florida, I wanted to recreate that same kind of magic for my kids and for families like yours. A place where you can unplug, slow down, and soak in the simple joys of country life.

Our property sits on 7 beautiful, private acres in Elkmont, Alabama just 2 minutes off I-65, 10 minutes from Athens, and 30 minutes to Huntsville. The full farmhouse comfortably sleeps 8 guests and is surrounded by wide-open spaces, peaceful views, and the sounds of farm life.

One of the highlights? Our adorable petting zoo, home to goats, babydoll sheep, a mini zebu cow, horses, and of course, our sassy little mini donkey. Guests of all ages love getting up close with the animals, and we offer fun add-on experiences like horse rides, animal feeding, pony parties, and seasonal events to make your stay even more memorable.
